Let's Talk ACMs....

Some of you guys may not care about who was nominated for the Academy of Country Music Awards, but since I have been in ACM voter hell for the past month I wanted to do a little commentary. You can find my comments in yellow.

2009 ACM AWARD NOMINEES

ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR
• Kenny Chesney  (seriously if he wins this year I will boycott the world!)
• Brad Paisley     (Ok, I wouldn't hate it if Brad won- he's a hard working man)
• George Strait  (He's olllllllllllllllld! And according to Pollstar he only played 22 shows last year- Trace Adkins played over a 100 AND went to Iraq!!)
• Keith Urban  ( He toured sooome last year, and I wouldn't hate it if he won, but I'm not totally convinced that he deserves it)
• Carrie Underwood (I'm just glad that we FINALLY have a woman being nominated for Entertainer of the Year. Go Carrie Go!!)

TOP MALE VOCALIST
• Kenny Chesney  (boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo)
• Toby Keith (booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo [sorry Alan])
• Brad Paisley (meh, I could live with it)
• George Strait (because he is a legend I could live with it, but at some point we need to make room for the new kids!)
• Keith Urban (Um, his cd came out in 2006- he does not desserve to be in this category)

TOP FEMALE VOCALIST
• Miranda Lambert (I could live with this!)

• Taylor Swift (uh, no- have we HEARD her sing live? she can't)
• Carrie Underwood (Definitely could vote for her)
• Lee Ann Womack (Definitely could vote for her- Lee Ann rarely gets the recognition that she deserves)

• Rascal Flatts (Hate them, someone else should win for once)

• The Lost Trailers (see comment above)

I think it's quite possible that the Academy of Country usic has lost its damn mind! What are your thoughts?

to say you are biast is an understatement hahahahaha

I also agree on dislike of KC - however, Down the Road is a great great great song - mainly because Mac Macanally wrote it and he is just great himself (okay a bit of partiality on my part too because he is TKO haha) :-)

Here's to next years noms and DIERKS!!!!!!!!!!!

ok. so as an avid country music listener i can help with some of this.

totally 100% agree with Kenny and RF comments.
also soooo glad Carrie was nominated for Entertainer of the Year. and also agree that although George Strait is an icon and a legend...Trace should have been in that category instead of him.

Carrie for top Female vocalist as well. as we witnessed on the grammy's. girl can sing.

James Otto for new male vocalist. done and done.

the new female vocalists i think are strange b/c all of them have had one and only one song i think. julianne hough really? girl needs to stick with dancing with the d-list stars. i vote sarah buxton for this cause she's a good writer.

you need to hear "in color". it's legit. i'm not a huge fan of the song. but overall it's incredible writing and will likely win everything it's been nominated for.
but i did love "you're gonna miss this"

everything else i'm meh about.....
