Family Feud Clip of the Day: A Weenie Beanie

Once Again, I Apologize to My Credit Card

So, I managed to refrain myself a few weeks ago when Target released their Prabal Gurung line (refrain myself means I only bought 3 items instead of the whole collection- hoping some will go on sale!), but I just don't know if the same can be said with the new Pearl by Georgina Chapman (aka one half of the Marchesa design team) and Duro Olowu collections for JC Penney that are both out tomorrow, March 1st.

Both collections are really divine, and if these new Target-esque designer collaborations are a part of their makeover process, then consider my ticket punched and me fully on board the JCP train. Choo Choo!

My only concern is that they may want to scale back the price ranges ever so slightly. Most of Target's designer collabs top out around $80 (and when they don't, it's generally a big mistake), with the Pearl line going as high as $250. Granted, this is still a FRACTION of what you would pay for a Marchesa piece, but you have to wonder if the Middle America JC Penney shopper can afford to spend $250 on a dress that, while fabulous, they may only wear a few times.

Never the less, I hope that both collections are a success and that it will mean more designer collaborations at fantastic prices!

Some of my favorites from the Pearl by Georgina Chapman collection:

Would I wear this? Probably not. Is it still sassy and fun? Absolutely.

PromDress2_201302221125565
I think this piece is so fab. It rings in at $180 which makes it out of my budget, but a girl can dream.

Love, love this one and at $70, it's for sure on my hit list

Pearl by Georgina of...
I have absolutely no occasion to wear this ( good thing since its $140), but since it has sparkles, I obviously love it.

Now THIS would be a beautiful wedding dress and at $110 that would also make it a STEAL

No clue what these will look like on, but you can bet your bottom dollar I am going to try and see!

Dress

Oh hello, sexytown. For $70, worth finding SOMETHING to wear it to

The perfect LBD. $70 and it will be in style the rest of your life? Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Jumpsuit
Now, I personally don't wear a lot of jumpsuits (too hard to pee in!), but I think this one is super chic. Would look great with a Stella & Dot necklace! (shameless plug! it's my blog, I do what I want!)

Sorry I'm not sorry, but how perfect is this dress? It's $110 which puts it out of my budget, so I apologize to my credit card in advance.

At $250, this is also a STEAL of a wedding dress.

And now for some favorites from Duro's JCP Collection:

Family Feud Clip of the Day!

For those of you who don't know, I have a mild obsession with Family Feud. Now, not just ANY Family Feud mind you, but Steve Harvey Family Feud. Steve's da man! As such, I think it's only appropriate that I start sharing Family Feud clips with you, hopefully on a daily basis.

Here's today's Family Feud Clip of the Day!

New Release Tuesday

I may be a little bit biased on this one, but I promise I'm not wrong when I tell you that this album is GOOD. Actually, it's better than good, it's iconic, legendary, and everything that country music was once meant to be. Luke Bryan, take a listen.

OSCARS 2013!!

Last nights Oscars were, frankly, kind of a snooze fest, with few surprises and a completely unforgettable host [no surprise there]. It did have a few outstanding moments [sock puppets, the cast of Les Mis singing the movies finale live, The First Lady presenting the Best Picture statue], but for the most part could have been skipped entirely to the last three awards where THIS happened

tumblr miresb7xum1qh9nffo1 500

It was funny because it's great when you realize celebs are just regular ole people like us, but not funny because she is so likable and it almost felt like your best friend just fell down in front of the whole world. She recovered brilliantly!

And now, onto the red carpet. Let me start by saying, the E! red carpet correspondents often annoy me [I'm looking at  you Ryan Seacrest- you should not be allowed to even look at celebrities much less open your mouth around them], but they were like a dream from heaven after we switched over to ABC's red carpet coverage. Brandi Glanville? Kelly Rowland? Kristen Chenoweth? Ew. Was everyone else busy? You would not believe the texts I got from my family members about Chenoweth. They include, but are not limited to, "Who is the blonde doing the interviews who kinda whines when she talks?", "Who is that shrimp girl on red carpet? Yikes she's stupid short. She was looking at everybody's titties!", and "Blondie is a terrible red carpet interviewer". Can we also discuss the horrific game that ABC made Kristen play with the celebs on the red carpet- the "guess whats covered up in that box" game? SO EMBARASSING!!

Ok, so now, onto the good stuff. And there WAS good stuff on the red carpet. And then there was also really, really bad stuff. We determine the real winners and losers here!

LOVE

Jennifer Aniston, only a presenter last night (has she ever been more?), looked absolutely beautiful in this gown last night. I love that full skirt dresses seemed to make a big comeback at this years Oscars. It makes everyone look extremely Old Hollywood with a modern twist. I also loved that she kept her hair and make up simple with such a bold dress. Well done Aniston!

MEH

Overall, Nicole Kidman looked really nice last night, but hers is the first of many dresses last night where the designer should have stopped at the knees. Look at how fabulous the top 1/3 of this dress is, and then what happens at the flare?? I used to put those curly q's on the notes I wrote in middle school! They are not meant for a couture gown!!!

HATE

ADELE! WOULD YOU GET A NEW STYLIST ALREADY??!! There is a way for heavier women to dress and look fantastic [use Queen Latifah as an example!] and you are not doing it right! Would you like me to tell you about a better dress? Look no further than yourself!

You looked FAB-U-LOUS during your performance! Why not on the red carpet?? Hair, makeup, dress, shoes, everything was better on stage. Switch the two next time.

LOVE

Ok, I literally kind of freaked out a little bit when Halle Berry showed up in this dress. It almost makes me speechless its so fantastic. The hint of a point at the shoulders may be what makes the whole thing. She obviously looks completely fabulous in it, but there is something about the cut and design of this dress that makes me think a woman who weighed 30 lbs heavier than Halle could still rock it and rock it right. This might have been my favorite dress of the night.

MEH

Let's start by addressing the weird clip in your hair. Did you get that at Claire's, Sandy? It was a bit odd. And now, for this dress. It isn't terrible or anything, it's actually quite pretty, but my issue with it is that it is Chocolate Brown. Gah-ross. You know what color this would have been nice in? Something bright a different. Why not a cobalt blue or a chartreuse color? Brown?? BORING.

HATE

OK. Anne, I'm going to try to cut you a little slack here since you have been murdered by everyone else over this dress, but I do just have to say WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??? YOU WON AN OSCAR IN THAT DRESS AND YOU'LL HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT FOREVER!! It is somewhat reminescent of the dress that Taylor Swift wore to the Golden Globes this year which I also hated, but Anne's is even uglier! How did she do it?? And once again, let me give you an example, FROM YOURSELF, of how great you could have looked

This dress is at least 4x better than the won she wore to the Oscars. Hope you are proud of yourself!

LOVE

Give it to us, Charlize! This dress is tied for favorite of the night. Everything about it is right. Well done!

MEH

Eh, I'm bored. I love Reese Witherspoon, but she needs to step it up. She's been playing it safe and boring lately on the red carpet. Do sumphin different!

HATE

Here is another culprit of a dress that is really fantastic at the top and then turns into a Christmas Tree skirt. It seriously looks like these designers ran out of time and went "oh just do whatever with the bottom!". Whatever is not acceptable, especially when the top is so amazing! Half of an amazing dress does not equal an amazing dress.

LOVE

Hard to believe that Stacy Keibler was once a WWE wrestler and now looks like this, but dangalang if that dress isn't amazing! I also love her hair and make up and the date ain't so bad either!

MEH

Amanda Seyfried- eh. I don't love nor hate anything about this dress, but it just doesn't do it for me. I especially don't love the halter neck with the tear drop split. It's very pageanty, the whole look, and it just doesn't do it for me.

HATE

GIRL!! No Ma'am! Who let you out of the house in that dress?? Everyone that I watched the Awards with really hated her hair and I happened to think it was the only redeeming part of this whole look. Once again, you can be a bodacious beauty and still dress WELL. This look does not count as dressing well. Sorry I'm not sorry.

LOVE

Oh girl. Now THIS is how you pick an Oscars dress that you are going to win in. I will be completely honest here and say that the color wasn't my favorite, but everything else about this dress and the look in general are flawless. You can't see it here, but the diamond necklace that she is wearing that dips down her back.....ah! I  died over that. It was the perfect, subtle touch to this statement dress.

MEH

There were a lot of strong feelings about this dress last night and almost none of them were middle of the road. Most people hated it and I think I am the only one who gave it any sort of positive feedback. I like it, I don't love it, and that's about all there is to say on this one.

HATE

Oh Helen Hunt. You were doing so well with your comeback and then you wore THIS. While she was walking down the red carpet I said, "It looks like she got her dress at Jessica McClintock" and immediately after she announced that she got it at H&M! EVEN WORSE! Ryan Seacrest's response was "Oh, I drove past there on the way here." Also, did no one steam this thing before she left? That is what happens when you get a CHEAP DRESS FOR THE OSCARS!!!

LOVE

I wish Jessica Chastain would have done something different with her hair for this awards since she wore it like that for a most of the others [and also, it's boring] but this dress was where it was at! This photo does not even do it justice, but it was absolutely brilliant on the red carpet.

MEH

I actually don't hate this dress, but the person who is wearing it could be better. Is she so unaffected that she couldn't even be bothered to wash her hair for the Oscars? I am OVER this girl.

HATE

I mean, obviously.

LOVE

I mean, I almost can't even talk about how good this dress is. The tailoring is absolutely flawless. Naomi Watts has not one single bulge or fat roll in sight [that bitch!]. A one shoulder dress is hard to pull off, but this one is so unique and original and oddly flattering that I suspect we will be seeing this style a lot in the coming months.

MEH

Ok, again, why was this trick even on the red carpet? Who at ABC was dumb enough to hire her? This dress is quite lovely and chic if it actually covered up her ta-ta's. Just because you have a great rack doesn't mean that you have to have it out all the time! She looks like white trash crashing a fancy party.

HATE

This one is actually kind of weird. It's so different that I couldn't decide if I loved it or hated it but one look at that center seam and my decision was made! Who made this dress??

It's Sweater Weather

Good ole' winter has pulled a fast one on us, making us think it was spring earlier in the week and now dropping so low temps and grey skies down on us. How rude! So, because it's officially sweater weather again, I've had this song on repeat.

On Repeat

I'm not even gonna lie, I had never even heard of Two Hours Traffic until I started listening to their cd on Tuesday, but I am already a big fan.  The good news is, it's making my Wednesday so much better! The bad news is, it's actually Thursday and I'm so tired that I keep thinking it's Wednesday. The good news is, that the bad news is actually good news cause that means tomorrow is Friday!! Still with me?

Don't even try to follow, just check out the tunes. ;)

IT'S HAPPENING!

I honestly couldn't tell you the last time I have eaten at Taco Bell, nor the last time that I had any Doritos. As trashy as it is, these are two of my favorite things, but the scale in my bathroom told me a long time ago (probably when I was in college and ate them both A LOT) that I was no longer allowed to have them. It is a wonder that I have managed to stay away from the Locos Tacos craze, especially after being told by many naturally thin friends that they are amazingly delicious.

Well, that all changes in March.

Taco Bell has announced that the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco is coming on MARCH 7TH!

Official: Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos Are Coming This March

Also, just so you can pat me on the back, my grandmother was the sister-in-law of the Founder of Taco Bell. Therefore, my Locos Tacos should be FREE!!!!
